CPS faces lawsuit in another child abuse case

KSEE 24 News has learned that Fresno County's Child Protective Services is facing a civil suit in federal court stemming from a case back in 2004. The suit claims a little girl was severely beaten by a woman that CPS helped establish as the girl's legal guardian, despite knowing the woman, Bertha Gonzales, had a history of abuse against her own children.

  1. unfortunately, regulation and checks and balances is not taking seriously enough. even when a little girl is eternally damaged for the oversight of the adoption agency. and since money is a big motivator for change, the court system has gotten to this ill sought level to make sure that accountability and the right thing is done for the afflicted. such a tragedy.
