92-year-old accused of shooting his children appears in court, siblings remain at OHSU

A woman who police say was shot in the head by her 92-year-old father remains in critical condition, but her brother has been upgraded to serious condition at Oregon Health & Science University hospital.

While investigators continue to look at the case, Bill Mackintosh, Kim's husband, said the family is praying for a miracle. Besides caring for her elderly dad, Kim Mackintosh was the full-time caretaker for her 12-year-old son, who is severely autistic.

The boy is in temporary foster care because his father drives a cab and can't provide round-the-clock care. The boy was found hiding after the shootings. He doesn't speak, so nobody knows how much of the violence he witnessed.

Note: Change is detrimental to autistic children, isn't it?
