Tennessee Kids In Foster Care Must Wait A Little Longer For Senate Help

A bill awaiting U.S. Senate action could mean major benefits for thousands of Tennessee foster children, but it looks like they'll have to wait until the Senate Finance Committee reconvenes next month.

Currently, many children in foster care experience multiple placements and "grow out" of the system without ever finding permanent homes. Michael McSurdy, associate executive director of the Oasis Center, says it's important for the state to take a different look at measuring success.
