State Agency Needs Overhaul

State Agency Needs Overhaul

It seems the state responds to ongoing concerns and issues with the Department of Children and Families only after something as tragic as the death of an infant.

You are so right. Don't know what state you are in, but my grandchildren are victimized emotionally and physically by their stepmother, who, by the way, has had six CPS cases unfounded going back to 2000 regarding her children, my grandchildren, and a child under her care. We live in NYS. The caseworker on the last two cases was a middle-aged man who seemed to be mesmerized by her psychopathic charm, outward appearance and mammary glands, sorry to say. My grandchildren were interviewed by CPS (they are 8 and 12) and told the truth. We thought, finally, something will be done. To my dismay, she was unfounded again. I am getting the court transcripts where she was told by the judge not to use corporal punishment and also to let the parenting be done by the biological father and my daughter, the children's mom. The law guardian seems to take an "I don't care" attitude about the entire situation. Do one of my grandchildren have to end up paralyzed before the system enacts upon this woman????
