as with any case there are always 2 sides to every story and this one sounds pretty one sided. no comments from the ex girlfriend/mom? prolly a reason for that. its one thing to speak badly about the other parent at home but to do it on tv like that makes you wonder what kinda stuff they say when cameras arent around ya know?

I know the mom of this story. Do not trust everything reported because not all the facts are given and some details about things said are misconstrued.

There is so much more to this story then anyone reading this article will ever know (regardless of where they read it).

  3. Two valid issues are raised by this story.
    1. It is very, very common for the CPS workers to make little or no effort to involve fathers in child welfare cases. I know what I am talking about. I did a career in child protection and county director and state worker training caseworkers, and now have been doing foster care for five years.

    2. In order to cover their asses, CPS all over the nation hide behind confidentiality laws. I am really glad to hear about this Nebraska law.

With all due respect, Bob, what you don't know is that the "father" in this case made "very little or no effort to contact the child." In fact, this father who is claiming his rights were denied or violated had contacted the mother ONE time and offered to sign away those rights. This "father" threatened the mother's life when she wouldn't have an abortion. This "father" spent 4 years not wanting to have anything to do with this child.

What you also don't know is that this "father" is using the media to help him win a $23000 lawsuit.

Don't believe everything you see on television.
