Interrogation abuses justice, and a child

Interrogation abuses justice, and a child

There are good reasons why rules are in place about how to question kids in sex abuse cases.

There do not appear to be any good reasons why a West Bloomfield Township police detective subjected a 13-year-old boy to an hour-long ordeal in an interrogation room, using falsehoods in an attempt to get him to incriminate his own father.

The Wendrows family recently filed a lawsuit in Oakland Circuit Court (MI) charging the police, the Walled Lake School District and the prosecuting attorney's office with prosecution that crossed the line to include lies and deceit and ignoring judicial orders and failure to uphold local standards of investigations of sexual misconduct. Those persons named include David Gorcyca, Deborah Carley and Andrea Dean.
Nearly all those persons named either have been previously named in lawsuits for identical conduct or have been totally discredited in the information they supplied in the Wendrow investigation. The question is - can obvious overt lies by a licensed professional be granted immunity under Michigan law? If such immunity is granted then a flood of false information will surely follow into the local courts.
