Record-high ratio of Americans in prison
For the first time in history, more than one in every 100 American adults is in jail or prison, according to a new report tracking the surge in inmate population and urging states to rein in corrections costs with alternative sentencing programs.

"New York state is one of the states with the most prisons" I hear so much about how the politicians are trying to reduce the amount of people who enter the prison system by implementing alternative programs. I myself have been through a program and even completed one but in the end your still left with the same problem you started with. (Employment) they just won't hire you.... you are considerd a liability... R.M
