Foster families to get raise in compensation

Texas foster parents will get a slight raise Sept. 1, but neither the state nor parents expect the 4.3 percent bump alone to fuel a dramatic increase in foster family recruitments.

Instead, officials say the increase is just one of the tools they're using to try to expand capacity in the foster care system.

They want more kids.
