Baby Peter: Social Work To Get £58m Boost

Millions of pounds are to be spent to train and support social workers in an overhaul of the child protection system following the death of Baby Peter.

  1. Lets hope some of the money will be put into keeping Families together?
    Care Proceedings within the West Midlands have increased by 40%,and in Isslington by 70%.
    Until Social Workers are made accountable for shoddy practice, as well other agency workers, very little will change.
    The Public.and Private Law Guidelines, that came into operation on 1st April 2008,are being disregarded on a Daily Basis by Social Services,and these are the basic rules,i despair for the future.
