In the Spotlight: Foster children deserve adequate psychiatric care

Note: They act as if doping these kids up on psych meds is a privilege.

Foster children who are removed from their family of origin, placed in a relative’s or stranger’s home with limited to supervised visitation with parents once a week, and monitored by social workers, therapists, and court personnel, already pay the price for their parents’ mistakes. All aspects of removing a child and placing him or her in foster care are traumatic. Why should these children continue to pay for a situation they had no control over by being forced to wait for the care they so desperately need?

Audit reveals disturbing problems in LA child welfare services

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. And just this month, the Louisiana State Auditor released a performance audit showing some disturbing problems in our state's child welfare system. "The system is very broken. The foster care system is scary. It's reactive, there's no proactiveness in it whatsoever," Kelli Todd of the Volunteers for Youth Justice (VYJ) told us. The audit of the Department of Children and Family Services reveals some cases were improperly referred to the wrong programs, not all cases were dealt with in a timely manner, and that the caseworkers dealing with children and their families on a daily basis - have too much on their plate.

The Michigan Supreme Court has ruled that the Florida grandmother of several Muskegon County children shouldn’t be favored to be their guardian just because she’s a relative.

Authorities have identified a 3-year-old Putnam County boy killed in a hit-and-run Tuesday night and are questioning several people to determine who was driving the vehicle involved.

The Florida Department of Children and Families almost immediately began an investigation to determine whether there was any neglect involved in the child’s ability to get out of the house, said agency spokesman John Harrell.

Note 2: And I love this next line...

“What we need to find out is what was happening at the time of this incident and how the child was being watched,” Harrell said. “We’re certainly going to be sensitive to the poor family.”

Note 3: Sensitivity from a babystealer during a state sponsored anal probe?  Bullshit!  I can't even imagine how that would work.  And what if they do determine neglect was involved?  Are the police going to be just as "sensitive" when they turn it over to them?

Preventing Disproportionality of Alaskan Native Children in the Child Welfare System

April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month, providing an opportunity to bring awareness to our racially lopsided child welfare system. Research has shown that children of color are more often reported, investigated and found to be victims of abuse or neglect compared to white children. One of the most overrepresented populations is Alaskan Native children. During the month of January 2014, 63% of Alaskan children in out-of-home care were Native despite the most recent census estimates suggesting that less than 15% of the general population in Alaska is either American Indian or Alaskan Native. This startling level of disproportionality is not unique to Alaskan Natives or even American Indians. It is an epidemic that is well-documented and persists throughout our child welfare service system, resulting in children of color spending their childhood and beyond separated from their families, their communities, and their culture.

Ross: Getting to the root of the DCF tragedies

Many of my constituents have contacted me in regard to the recent developments in the scandal plagued Department of Children and Families (DCF). No issue has brought to the foreground the failure of an executive agency like the tragic events under DCF oversight. The outrage is understandable since this agency is charged with serving the commonwealth’s most vulnerable residents – children and families at risk of abuse and neglect. DCF appears to have exhibited general negligence and inattention to its primary duty.

California attorney Vincent W. Davis wants to talk to you about what you should do next if your children have been taken out of the home by social services.

If a social worker has come into your home or your child's school and taken them away from you, it can be an overwhelming and devastating experience. You may wonder what happens next.
Well, the social worker involved in the case has 48 hours in which to bring a charge against you if they feel you're endangering your children in any way. They need to investigate and research, then document all of their findings to present to a judge and they have 48 hours in which to do this. It's important to seek the advice and assistance of an attorney who deals in social services matters so that you can disprove their case and have your children returned to you. Watch the video to learn more.

To learn more about juvenile dependency law, I encourage you to watch the video above and to explore our educational website at http://fightchildprotectiveservices.com/, to view more videos and media content regarding social services. Harry C. Clauson of Whitney Point New York is a False Accusing CPS Rat

Police: Man called in 48 false child abuse reports

A Whitney Point man is accused of making 48 false reports to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline over a five-month span, according to state police.

Note: And forget about what the parents went through.  Let's think about the kids here.
Each report required an immediate response and investigations by Broome County Child Protective Services, state police and the Broome County Sheriff’s Office. These investigations, mandated by the hotline reports, repeatedly exposed children to sensitive interviews and examinations, police said.
And there you see why filing false reports of child abuse is such a horrible thing, stated in a way that even a System Suck should be able to understand.
