Local foster parents says they are heartbroken after learning a baby in foster care died in a murder-suicide case. It's just something that as a parent, you just can't imagine what would drive a person to do that and it's devastating. Last week was the initial meeting of a Blue Ribbon Committee formed by the Nevada Supreme Court.
Las Vegas police are investigating what they believe was a murder-suicide involving a toddler and her foster father. Metro police are trying to piece together what led a foster father to kill the 18-month old girl in his care. Detectives say after the child's murder Joaquin Juarez-Paez, 37, of Las Vegas took his own life.
