Maine attorney general dismayed over high court’s decision in Indian custody case

Maine’s attorney general Friday expressed dismay over the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision earlier this week that will send a 3½-year-old girl named Veronica, now living with her Cherokee birth father in Oklahoma, back to the South Carolina home of her adoptive parents, who are not Indians.
