US states scramble to pay for child welfare services-GAO

US states scramble to pay for child welfare services-GAO

U.S. states are patching together funds from a variety of sources to care for thousands of children who have been abused or neglected, but they are still struggling to meet demand for services, a federal watchdog agency said on Wednesday.
The majority of federal funding that year for child welfare, $7.1 billion, went to states for foster care, while $730 million was distributed through formula grants to address child abuse and safety. The U.S. Congress also appropriated $189 million for child-abuse prevention, GAO said.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, states and the federal government spend about $25 billion every year on child welfare services.
Note: And all I ask for is $1 Million dollars to be dropped into my PayPal account for the service of exposing their fraud and corruption, so that I can quit my job and just work on Legally Kidnapped all the time, but noOOoo.  Not a dime.

You do gotta love how they cry poverty while blowing $25 billion on one of the greatest scams of our time though, eh?
