Why toddlers can't remember trauma

Why toddlers can't remember trauma

One question that I was asked though, seemed like an intelligent one and it was more asked of me because I am a psychologist rather than a mother to a child who joined my family via foster care. She wondered if I thought that CD would one day wake up and remember the trauma of her first year and a half of life.

Ah, I DO remember the trauma of my first 1 1/2 years of life. As a child, I described it to my mother who of course punished me. I described it in detail and asked her why she and my father did what they did. I still remember.
