I was harassed by the Public Health Nurses when my son was a baby. He just didn't want to eat and he was breast fed.
We were homeless at the time, escaping his abusive father. Yet the Public Health Nurses kept threatening to take my son away because he would not eat. They made it seem like "I wasn't feeding him", which I tried to do. He was full of life and had lots of energy.
Finally I went to our doctor and told him about the threats. He had delivered my son and knew he was healthy. He told me the next time the Public Health Nurses came around, to get them to call him. They never bothered me after that.
The doctor said my son was born a little under weight, that I was a little under weight and had been all my life, that we were not deficient in anything and said that if the nurses kept it up, HE would be seeing THEM in court.
I feel for you. My son was breast fed until he was 20 months old and had a healthy childhood. He is now a very healthy 27 year old.
