Unregistered children's homes, orphanages to attract penal provisions

In a bid to bring unregistered children's homes and orphanages under the scanner, the women and child development (WCD) ministry is planning to introduce penal provisions if an institution is found unregistered. The penalty could attract one year in imprisonment, and Rs 50,000 as fine.
