Barahona child abuse allegations bring changes to Florida Department of Children and Families
There were several lessons learned from one of the worst child abuse cases in recent state history. Nubia Barahona's body was found in the back of her father's pickup truck one year ago Tuesday. Her death came after years of unspeakable child abuse allegedly at the hands of her adoptive parents Jorge and Carmen Barahona. The case is leading to a major overhaul of the Department of Children and Families.
