Attorney Julie A. Ketterman - Child Protective Services Defense Attorneys
This is an advertisement for a lawyer's office in Texas. I do like a lot of what is said here, as it is some valuable advice for picking a lawyer to deal with CPS.
Lawyers are system sucks though. Don't let them fool you. They're in it for the money. You win, you loose, you pay and they'll drag it out as long as they can.
CPS is good for the economy. Keeps people working.

Clients of Julie Ketterman have reviewed her on Yahoo. There are several very negative comments about her representation. Basically she asks for a lot of money up front, makes promises and does not deliver. She doesn't show up for your Court hearings, is disorganized, unprepared and is basically dishonest. Beware of hiring her. She is not the top lawyer that she presents to the client.
I hired Ms. Ketterman to represent me to get custody of my grandchildren from CPS after finding her many advertisements on the internet. Ms. Ketterman convinced me that CPS was nothing more than an adoption ring for white children. She told me that it was a governmental conspiracy and that the State got paid for every child they adopted out to non relatives. Ms. Ketterman told me she had connections at CPS and that she always won. Well, she was the worst mistake I ever made in my life. I paid her $5000 up front. I am not a person of wealth and I gave this incompetent lawyer my hard earned money. After she was paid she would not return calls. Ms. Ketterman did not show up for Court, respond to text messages and left me standing alone. She would cancel appointments, re-schedule (because of various alleged emergencies) and cancel again. She did not have connections with CPS just the opposite from my observation. The woman did nothing and had the nerve to ask for more money. When I said no what have you done for me to earn the 5 grand she withdrew from my case. This was a blessing because I hired another lawyer. My new lawyer talked to the CPS and my grandkids attorney. CPS than sat down with me and we worked it out. My grandkids now live with me and I agree with what the CPS did to help my family. If I would not have hired someone like Ms. Ketterman who makes you think their is a crazy conspiracy and black market adoption agenda my grandkids would not have spent so much time in foster care. I do not want one more grandmother to be taken advantage by someone like Ms. Ketterman. She is dishonest, only cares about getting her 5 grand and acts like she is the best and seems to love the media. She is a bad attorney and I really just needed someone to tell me the truth and be a go between CPS. Ms. Ketterman told me horrible things about the Judge and my grandchildren's attorney. Funny thing is after Ms. Ketterman was out of the picture they turned out to treat me fair and really did care about my grandchildren. This woman should not have a law license. I thought lawyers had an ethical duty to be truthful. She can talk the talk, but sure can't walk the walk. I love my Daughter, but CPS was right her parent rights needed to be terminated and even though I wish it could have been different my grandchildren needed to be adopted by me. Ms. Ketterman's actions almost created a situation to prevent that from happening. Do not fall for her stories and lies and be the next victim of her quest for money at anyone's expense. PLEASE BEWARE OF JULIE KETTERMAN"S SHE IS DISHONEST. I hope I have helped some other innocent grandmother from bad representation. Thank you and good luck.
I think that we have to be aware that not all attornies and their clients are a "good fit." Also, not all clients take their attorney's advice and then are bitter when things do not go their way. For every "bad experience" there are a hundred happy clients. Unfortunately, the satisfied clients do not get on blogs and express their opinions.
Everything said regarding Julie is correct. She is a money hungry liar. She is rude, non responsive, rescheduled court dates and is NEVER prepared. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON HER!!!!! SHE IS A DISHONEST LIAR!!!! Her own kids don't even talk to her. That says A LOT.
I almost hired this attorney to represent me. Thank you for saving me thousands of dollars and a lot of grief.
