Congress approves bill prohibiting physical punishment of children

The House of Representative solidify child protection in the country with the approval of House Bill no. 4455 or the Positive and Non-Violent Discipline of Children Act, which prohibits physical punishment and psychological threats to children.

This story just about gave me a heart attack. Then upon reading I see this was in the PHILIPPINES.

I was being dumbfounded at how such a bill sneaked past my attention if it had been here in the US.

The truth is, this is nothing but their codification of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child - http://familyrights.us/UNCRC

I remember Diane Finestein did introduce such a bill sometime ago. But it died on the vine.
