U.S. Supreme Court Case Could Affect Maine's Deadbeat Dads
Over the last decade, dozens of Maine parents have gone to jail because they're behind on child support payments. But the U.S. Supreme Court is weighing a case that could make a difference for delinquent parents on the verge of jail time. Maine is one of several states that do not provide public legal counsel to parents who face incarceration for civil contempt of a court order to make child support.
