‘Baby Vanessa’ custody case resumes today

The “Baby Vanessa” child custody case scheduled to resume this morning has gained national attention, and some legal experts say it could go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The custody hearing between Stacey Doss of California, Vanessa’s prospective adoptive mother, and Benjamin Mills Jr. of Dayton, Vanessa’s biological father, took place for two days in late July last year and has been rescheduled twice since — first for negotiations, and later to accommodate the schedules of the many lawyers in the case.
