State assistance terminated for 5,000 families

State assistance terminated for 5,000 families

Washington cut about 5,000 families off welfare Tuesday and reduced the monthly benefit to the families remaining on assistance, at a time when more people are asking for help.

Note: I wonder how much of that helped to keep kids out of foster care?

This just opens the door for them to take even more children. This is exactly why I refuse to apply for ANY type of assistance from the government. We do just fine at the food banks, thank you! As for the cash, so far God has provided our every need...now, if He'd just provide that job!!! :) I agree that it is wrong for them to cut the welfare. I can think of many other places that could be cut instead..like funding to CPS!!!
