Councils put millions into child protection
While councils have been told they must make millions of pounds worth of savings following publication of the Localism Bill and tens of thousands of jobs are said to be at risk, some local authorities are planning to invest several millions of extra cash into beefing up their children's social care services, writes Rory Baxter.
