That wonderful belief that Child Protective Services should be able to protect every single child on the planet. God forbid they don't.
CPS desperately in need of change
Regarding the column on Wednesday by Laurie Roberts, "CPS once again fails young abuse victim": Sadly, these articles have become rote. Just insert different names, the circumstances are pretty much the same. The mantra of Child Protective Services failing to act and take charge of the care of children being tortured at the hands of an "adult" - and make no mistake, I use this term loosely - is sickening! I just don't understand how the myriad articles that have been written about these children and their abuse and ultimate horrifying deaths doesn't bring about change! What are the names of those at CPS who had the conversations that shelter staff were supposed to work with the mother, Bianca Adrianna Arce, to help her (in spite of herself)? So does the beat go on and on? "Ho hum, another day at the office," that's how I envision the attitude over at CPS. Doesn't anyone have any ideas? Certainly, just caring and lamenting the situation doesn't do anything! - Kaye A. Peters,Phoenix
Now if you enjoyed that little rant and rave as much as I did, then you should seek help immediately.
Now you see why CPS gets away with this crap. The masters of ignoromics demand it of them.
