Children of deployed seek mental health care
Young children from military families are more likely to seek mental and behavioral health care when a parent is deployed than when a parent is at home. The Department of Defense says their research also found that children of married military fathers are more likely to seek care than children with a married military mother or a single servicemember parent. The study included more than a half million children from active-duty families. It will be published in the December issue of the journal "Pediatrics."
