Spanking and Other Physical Punishments―Revisited

Spanking and Other Physical Punishments―Revisited

Legislation is being introduced in the US House of Representatives to ban physical punishment in schools (HR 5628). Many medical and psychological organizations support this ban and have position statements which condemn physical punishment and offer solutions. These include the American Academy of Pediatrics (www.aap.org), the National Association of Social Workers (www.nasw.org), the National Alliance of Pupil Services Organizations (www.napso.org), and the American Psychoanalytic Association (www.apsa.org).

Note: Every now and then I post things simply so that you will know what they're saying. This is a case where the system sucks use psychobabble in a desperate attempt to demonize parents who choose certain, acceptable methods of discipline, thus trying to whittle away at your parental rights as if their expert opinions of the very real frustrations that some parents may face on occasion while dealing with difficult children, is worth a piss-hole in the snow.

You see folks, it's because of people like this that we have people like this. You know the type, the ones who really ought to learn to mind their own business.

They don't wait to stop a woman from breastfeeding.
