Medical data sought in child abuse case
An attorney for Jonas Neiderbach, a Des Moines man accused of severely abusing his infant son, will go to court Friday to try to obtain the medical records of the baby's mother.
Disclosure of Jherica Richardson's alleged postpartum depression and mental illness is "necessary to fully explain to the jury Ms. Richardson's involvement in the injuries to her child and defendant's corresponding innocence," attorney Gary Dickey Jr. wrote in a brief arguing for the records.
