Sex-for-smokes to get social worker 9 months
A Meriden man who worked for an agency under contract with the state's Department of Children and Families to supervise the care of girls in crisis will be sentenced to at least nine months in prison for trading sex for cigarettes Sept. 30.
David Traverso admitted guilt Friday in Litchfield Superior Court Friday to second degree sexual assault. Senior Assistant State's Attorney Terri L. Sonnemann said Traverso traded cigarettes for sex with a 17-year-old girl living at Touchstone, a residential program for troubled girls in Litchfield where he worked the overnight shift in July 2009.
Note: He gets off rather easy probably because he's a social worker, no pun intended. It's a double standard you know.
