The EU gives UK government deadline to act on data protection - or else
The Ministry of Justice is going to ask us Brits what we think of our data protection legislation. At first glance this might look like a concerned new government quickly opting for a fresh approach and exhibiting a fine concern for democracy - except that the action is being forced upon it by the European Commission, as Martyn Warwick reports.
