False allegations of abuse may be made by children against their parents for a variety of reasons. It can stem from a child wanting their own way or to avoid discipline. Foster parents may be susceptible to allegations of child abuse as retaliation against a disciplinarian parent. They may want to allege abuse in order to be placed in a different foster home where they perceive things may be more lenient for them.
