Health-reform law protects moms who pump milk at work
Pulling off the feat of going back to work and continuing to breastfeed after having a baby is becoming a little easier thanks to a provision in the new health-reform law. It calls for employers to provide reasonable break time and a private space that’s not a bathroom for nursing moms to express breast milk during the work day over the child’s first year of life, when research shows breastfeeding’s health benefits are greatest for both mother and baby.
