Student protection bill spurred by attack on Montrose girl

Student protection bill spurred by attack on Montrose girl

The Montrose County School District is pushing for legislation to mandate that schools be notified when potentially dangerous students will enroll.
----
HB 1274, introduced Feb. 5, requires the state Department of Human Services to notify schools before enrollment by students in state care who are identified as presenting a risk to the community or themselves.

Note: You know, it's really sad when they have to make a law like this. That should tell you a lot.
