US Army Goes After Single Mother For Missing Duty
A single mother has been charged by the United States Army for allegedly refusing to report to duty in Afghanistan. The charges that Hutchinson is facing include missing movement, being absent without leave, insubordinate conduct, and dereliction of duty. The single mother, Spc and Army cook Alexis Hutchinson, could face dishonorably discharge from the military as well as prison time if she is convicted. Dereliction of duty by itself carries a maximum penalty of 2 years in prison and automatic dishonorable discharge.
