Students' quilt is a warm gesture to foster kids in Fairfax
A group of eager eighth-graders hovered around family and consumer sciences teacher Owlin Burke as she handed out brightly colored quilt squares to be stitched into blocks and rows.
Note: It's not that I have an issue with people doing nice things for foster children, it's just that the way these stories are portrayed, you'd think that a quilt or a duffel bag makes the plight of these kids seem so much brighter.
