Both have the unenviable task of making decisions that affect families and the trickiest part is making a call on where children should live. Who would want to be a Family Court judge or a Children's Court magistrate struggling through these complex issues? Every day, they are presented with family violence, alcohol and substance abuse and mental illness - often intertwined. Based on the information they have, they make a decision, and hope it is the right one.
