Official criticizes child poverty study
Thanks for your child-welfare advocacy, but your facts are wrong.
That's the reaction from a top state official to a nationwide report released by a nonprofit organization Wednesday on child abuse and neglect. The report included data on all 50 states and said that Maine spent slightly less than $32 per capita to address child abuse and neglect, ranking third-to-last in the United States.
