Child services ombudsman bill passes Indiana Senate committee
Legislation to create an ombudsman to investigate complaints about the Department of Child Services advanced out of a Senate committee Wednesday, but also saw major changes.
----
The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday made two changes to the bill. The ombudsman would only hear complaints about children, rather than also serving as a forum for parents and family members to air their grievances with the DCS. Also, those who file complaints may not publicly discuss those complaints until after the ombudsman investigates.
Note: Complain anyway.
