Woman's adoption highlights needs of children in foster system

An adoption is a special occasion for any child, but it took on even more meaning Friday for one Austin woman.

Did the same foster family raise her since age 3? IF so, I HOPE they don't foster anymore...how can someone just turn off the 'I care about you' switch?
I've read a little about children who 'ages out' then fosters want nothing more to do with them.
I can only pray that there are more GOOD fosters that counter this attitude, who NEVER close that door, just because the state benefits and income stops rolling in.
I'm glad this is a happy ending...
It makes me wonder just how many children have become nothing more than products of the system, left with no sense of belonging anywhere...all under the 'we want to help children' guise.
