Report: Staff didn't file abuse allegations

No member of the Washtenaw Intermediate School District's staff reported allegations of child abuse by a teacher's aide to either the local police or the state's Department of Human Services, a district internal investigation found.

Schools never report abuse, or even for that matter injuries of children on school property. Why, one may ask? No one wants the infringe upon school funding with drop outs of other students for safety concerns.

And another reason why nothing is done is because the state does not even know its own protocol. It is not always the responsibility of the county prosecutor, because in Wayne County, it is the State Attorney General who has authority. Perhaps this is why Detroit Public Schools is on the national hotseat.
