It seems like the Local Authorities would rather use Foster carers, costing millions of pounds of the taxpayers money.
Foster Carers receive up to £500 per week per child.
The New Public Law Guidelines that came into practice on 1st April 2008, state that before a child is removed and placed into Care, the Kincareship clause should be used,by placing children with Grandparents or a immediate member of the family.
A recent Judgement at the High court in London, ruled that a Grandmother from Leicester, who was caring for her Daughters two children, should be given the same financial payment as a normal Foster Carer, a good decision, because many Grandparents suffer from financial hardship, with retrospect to this cause.
