Mom loses kids
Remember the mother charged with endangerment after a carjacker stole her SUV, with a child strapped in a safety seat, when she dashed into the Children's House Montessori School on Lee Avenue to pick up another foster child? The car and unharmed child were found a few blocks away. She's lost custody of both foster children. A friend of hers thinks an injustice has been done and has sent me a letter on the subject. Maybe she wouldn't have acted so carelessly if these were her biological children. On that note, did Ashley have respect for the biological parents of these children and do everything possible to reunite them, or did she push to terminate their rights so she could adopt the kids herself? Whether a biological parent is having problems with drugs or the law, they are still parents and should be respected and given preferences and all the help they can be given for the sake of the children, who will grow up deprived of their genetic parents. I would like to know the answers to these questions before passing judgment on Ashley.
