Long past time for Jersey to open adoption records
Regarding Bob Ingle's recent "Politics Patrol" column headlined "Jersey ranked low on scales of justice," an important way to improve Jersey's ranking would be for the full state Assembly to vote on and pass bill A-752, which permits adult adopted persons access to their original birth certificates and other related information. This carefully crafted bill passed the state Senate last year, as did similar bills in 2004 and 2006, but once again it is blocked in committee from coming to full Assembly vote.
