Fresno County CPS workers mourn, feel heat after boy's death
As Child Protective Services workers mourned the beating death of Seth Ireland this week, their main downtown Fresno office has been the target of dozens of angry e-mails, faxes -- and eggs.
Note: Next they'll be crying that their overwhelmed. They need more workers, more money, and more kids will end up in foster care. Just like this.
It's obvious you simply don't understand the dilemma CPS workers find themselves in day after day. If a child is injured or killed by their parents or caregivers, then all the Monday morning quarterbacks come out to say CPS screwed up by NOT removing the child.
ReplyDeleteIf the child is injured or killed in foster care or the allegedly abusive family protests the removal, then the same Monday morning quarterbacks come out to complain that CPS did remove the child.
Are there crappy CPS workers? Of course there are. There are crappy workers in EVERY profession. The vast majority of CPS workers are caring folks performing a NEEDED, but thankless job -- a job in which at least one side (sometimes more) will not be happy with the outcome.
CPS workers also don't possess ESP or crystal balls. They weigh a whole host of different criteria and try to come up with the resolution that is in the best interests of the child. Sometimes, they get it right and sometimes they don't. As long as imperfect human beings are involved in the decisions, we must acknowledge that said decisions will be imperfect too.
Actually I couldn't care less about the delima a babystealer finds themselves in.
ReplyDeleteObviously LK's comment indicates one of two things, either this person is a abusive parent or foster parent taking advantage of the system, or just another naive naysayer out to make an already difficult situation more difficult, probably all of the above.
ReplyDeleteCPS IS SO CROOKED MY SON HAS BEEN BROUGHT INTO CPS VISITS WITH HAND PRINTS ON HIS THROAT TWO BLACK EYES & WHEN U ASK HIM WHAT HAPPENED HE POINTS TO THE FOSTER MOM AND SAID MOM DID IT CPS REFUSES TO MOVE MY KIDS FROM THE HOME AND WON'T MAKE ANY REPORTS CPS WORKERS R A JOKE THEY JUST CARE ABOUT THERE PAY CHECK I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT! ~SUMMER~
