Dubas bill proposes accreditation of Children and Family Services
A measure that came before a legislative committee on Wednesday would require that the agency that came under fire during the recent safe-haven controversy be evaluated by formal accreditors.
State Sen. Annette Dubas of Fullerton introduced LB247, which would require the Division of Children and Family Services in the Department of Health and Human Services to undergo regular accreditation. Dubas said the measure would create uniform standards and generate more accountability for state dollars allocated to HHS.
