Bill Seeks to Make Child Welfare System More Transparent
In November, a 13-month-old Milwaukee boy was beaten to death while in foster care. His aunt has been charged. The death of Christopher Thomas sparked outrage in the community because of the brutality, and because little information was made public. State Sen. Alberta Darling says she’ll introduce legislation soon requiring more public disclosure when children are killed or seriously injured in foster care. WUWM’s Erin Toner reports.
