Are You My Mother?

Are You My Mother?

Little Boy D, the newest edition to our family, walked up to me the other day and calmly asked,

"Are you my mommy?"

I looked at him and replied, "Yes, when you live with me I am your mommy."

Note: The words of a foster mom. I totally disagree.

I'm with you. I recently read an article out of South Africa and they used the term "day mother" to refer to a daycare provider. I was absolutely appalled but couldn't help thing this is the direction we're headed.

Until the corruption within the Family courts prevail, sadly this will be a regular occurrence.
