FLDS elder decries 'terrorist acts' in letter to Bush

"Mr. President, it does not require a foreign country to commit terrorist acts on American soil," the letter says. "Terrorist acts can be committed by federal, local, and private entities that are operating under the guise of 'protecting the public.'

Note: He's right you know.

But you do not seem to get it this is NOT terrorism, just because they had no search warrant, just because they tore families apart, just because they have NOT charged ANYONE with a crime, just because they have violated EVERY major tenant of US Law! It is OUR Government doing the will of GOD! That isn't terrorism! (And for those who cannot see it the sarcasm DRIPPING from my quill This IS in TOTAL VIOLATION OF US LAW and thos who did this should be prosecuted and thrown in jail!

I completly agree. It is not the responsibility of the state to dictate to any religeon how to run thier affairs. Even if girls are encouraged to marry older men that is thier religeous choice. Putting those kids in foster care is probably putting them in far greater danger of being molested anyways.

There`s a video somewhere on youtube
showing the living conditions of a texas foster care camp and it is simply horrible. It`s called "Texas worst little hellhole".

I don`t see how these kids can be better off there.

Pardon moi, fruitcakes, if these were black voodoo practitioners torturing children, would that get through to you any differently? These are Pedophiles and rapists using religon as an excuse to repeatedly rape young girls. Just because you had the misfortune of being born in a pedophile neighborhood doesn't mean your rape should be sanctioned by the state.

I'm VERY opposed to many of the functions and practices of the FLDS church, including fraudulent claims of welfare benefits for "single" mothers who are "sister wives" ... I can't stand the fact that my taxes pay for this and MANY other things associated with this "faith."

However, let everyone of all faiths, without religion, and who hopes to reap the facade of American freedom beware: When the rights of those who are easiest to victimize are violated precedent is set ... ALL of our rights are violated in this case.

We had better hope that in EVERY case of willful disregard of these people's rights, the perpetrators are punished severely. And after the punishment, I hope the goofy FLDS faith takes the State of Texas to court and sues to become a financial superpower among Texas churches.

I don't agree with the FLDS way of life/religion

but just because they appear weird, doesn't make the ALLEGATIONS of impropriety true. Nor does it give ANY legal/moral grounds to do what they did to the children.

You seem to site God a whole lot....what if YOU came under fire for YOUR beliefs...you must belong to the cult that doesn't believe in "judge not lest ye be judgged" You know the pick and choose what part of the Bible works for me to justify my bigotry cult.

I don't care if these people worship easy bake ovens and dress like Rainbow Brite....IF THE ABUSE HAPPENED, HERE ARE THE CHARGES BEING SENT TO TRIAL AGAINST SAID ABUSERS????? There have not been any yet.
What has happened to these people is WRONG in any religion, by any country, PERIOD!
